Our farm is located 1500 m above sea level in the midst of the magnificent landscape of the Dolomites, with a wonderful view of the picturesque village of San Vigilio di Marebbe. The Soleseid farm has been owned by the Pisching family, who pour their heart and soul into its management, for 250 years.
We are wholly committed to agriculture, and raise many animals on the farm with love and the utmost care. The food we produce and use in our restaurant is local, seasonal and organic. We carefully process the beef from our farm, and this can also be purchased directly. Our eggs come from our happy hens and we also grow aromatic herbs and plants. The delicious jams and juices on the breakfast buffet are, of course, homemade!
We love nature and our animals and therefore attach great importance to organic, sustainable and species-appropriate animal farming. Our cows only eat fresh pasture grass in the summer, and hay from our meadows in the winter. We also ensure that our heating and domestic hot water systems are powered by renewable sources (wood chips and solar panels). And naturally, the delicious drinking water comes straight from our pure mountain spring!
Another feature of the farm is that it has its own chapel, a special place for peaceful meditation, to give thanks, draw strength or simply to enjoy its tranquillity. The chapel is also perfect for celebrating small weddings.
